General Information
This casino started working in 2012 with a license from Costa Rica and is powered by RTG. The design of its website does not really seem to fit its name, and the game selection is rather poor. Also, they have been involved in suspicious activities even before getting labeled as rogue. Moreover, their banking system is one of the main reasons why players are avoiding this casino. In addition, customer support is available 24/7, which is ready to provide you with help, but only after you’ve provided personal details, such as name, address, e-mail, phone number, etc. That can prove to be very inconvenient and impractical. Also, Neteller and credit cards are the only popular payment methods available.
First Impression
The website looks rather simplistic, it is not responsive, and even though it does not seem outdated, the design does not live up to the casino’s name. There are some random stars and rubies, but it just doesn’t seem like much effort was put into it. On the other hand, it is not hard for players to find what they need. At the top of the page, there are links for the Instant Play games, as well as downloadable ones.
Moreover, there are also links explaining how to get started, links leading to the sign-up and login pages, the games page, and the ones explaining how the promotions and banking work. However, the slider which works like a slot machine is a neat idea, gotta give them credit for that. Finally, ongoing promotions and featured games can also be seen there.
On the other hand, the footer of the website shows payment methods, certifications, and partners. The FAQ page has the answers to the most common questions, and it is noted that the Terms and Conditions may vary from promotion to promotion if it is specifically stated so. Unfortunately, the Live Support cannot be accessed unless you are logged in, which is a big minus. That way, they are forcing you to make an account before you can even decide if you want to create one. Nonsense.
Games and Software
The games categories are as follows: Slot Games (around 200 of them), Table Games, Video Poker Games, and Specialty Games (American Roulette, Multiplayer Roulette, Keno, Hot Dice, etc). When you enter the page, the first question that comes to mind is: Where are the pictures? Literally, the page is flooded with the names of their games but not a single picture preview of them can be seen!
The same thing applies to the mobile version of the website, which also doesn’t include any pictures. What kind of live gaming is that? What professionalism are you trying to show to your potential customers by not wanting to put any effort into making the products that you are selling more visible?
However, the Instant Play section shows the picture preview of the game you opt for. On that page, games are split into categories, and you can choose the “Practice” mode or the “Real Money” one, which is convenient. That means that the players are given the opportunity to test out the game before they decide to invest real cash in it, and it’s a smart move from the casino. Finally, as it was already mentioned, this casino’s software provider is RTG.
RealTime Gaming
One of the first software providers to go online in 1998. That makes them one of the pioneers in the field, and today, they have developed over 300 games, with video slots being the most prominent.
Apart from software developing, they also advertise casinos and offer mobile platforms. Moreover, their games are available for download, as well for instant play, as we have seen on the Ruby Slots’ website. Fluid software and smooth experience are one of RTG’s biggest perks.
For a while, the only casino software available for the player from the United States was RTG’s. Nowadays, as the responsible gaming and proper licensing are growing stronger, we might see more multiplatform casinos adopt RTG games.
Finally, slots are the main product of the Real Time Gaming software. And the best thing about them is that almost all of them feature progressive jackpots.
Rebranding and Naughty Behavior
The former name of the Ruby Slots Casino was “VIP Lounge Casino.” The rebranding was done in 2012. Also, the owner is a Costa Rican based Virtual Casino Group which is infamous for extremely slow withdrawal processes, non-payment of winnings, and enforcement of the sometimes rather confusing terms and conditions.
Basically, the idea behind the fraud is that they attract the players with no-deposit free chips (meaning that there are no wagering requirements) and unbelievable offers. And once the players get baited, their money is then milked without mercy. Moreover, should you win at this casino, you will wait for your payment for a long time — and be lucky if you even get anything paid out.
However, if you succeed in meeting each end every condition written in the terms and conditions page, be aware that they are still written in such a way that you will most likely end up getting nothing. The withdrawals can take anything from 30 days to even two months. In addition, the customer service sometimes seems as if they’re fed up with the questions about payment, so you might find them a bit inaccessible. Other than that, they can be contacted via live chat, e-mail, or a phone number, which is toll-free.
User Reviews
The reviews are mostly split into two categories of comments:
1) Players saying that they are extremely satisfied with the no-deposit bonus (obviously, they are not aware of what comes next) and that they enjoy the website’s design, etc.
2) Players who actually read other reviews, stating that they know what’s up and that they will not risk investing real money. However, some of them have tried the games despite the warnings and then confirmed the payment delay, having been caught in it themselves.
Here are a few examples: One player said that they waited for three months to get paid out. What is more, the customer support did not reply to e-mails, and according to them, they were rude and unprofessional in the live chat. No one wanted to provide information on whether the user should show some papers, documentation, anything.
This player’s payout should have been $2500, but even after three months — nothing. They were ridiculed in the e-mails with questions that they were not obliged to answer to, and it all spun in a circle. It remains unknown whether the user in question got the money in the end or not.
Another case included a player who couldn’t withdraw their winnings of $1000 because they were told (afterward) that the game they played on does not allow such high winnings. Needless to say, the user was not happy about it and ended up not getting paid.
Additionally, other players complained about their inboxes getting spammed with promotions, how the customer support was extremely rude, and of course, how they were experiencing issues with delayed payments.
All in all, the comments clearly show that the facts stated above are true. Extreme delays and slow payments are the biggest problems associated with the Ruby Slots Casino.
Pros and Cons
PROS:
– No deposit bonus (free chips).
– A simplistic website, easy to use.
CONS:
– Payment delays, the withdrawal time is too long.
– Terms and Conditions make it very hard for the players to claim their winnings.
– Unprofessional customer support.
– Poor license
Our Verdict
Even though the Ruby Slots Casino tried to get the dirt off of themselves by rebranding, it didn’t really work out. Instead, they continued with their greedy and scammy schemes, baiting players into investing real money and then ridding them of their winnings. The poor website’s design can be forgiven, and it is not the most essential part, but the withdrawal time and the “We will not pay you” policy are not very representative. Perhaps in the future, they will work their way out of our blacklist, but for now, this casino should be avoided.
