Plenty Jackpots: a no-longer-active rogue casino with a Costa Rican license and RTG games. They didn’t send money on time and neglected user complaints.
The Plenty Jackpots Casino is a part of the notorious Curgam Malta (or Curgam N.V.) management group that is at the helm of several casinos with a record of shady business conduct and countless player complaints. For those who keep themselves informed about rogue and blacklisted casinos, they must have had an encounter with the Curgam group, as they are one of the casino groups infamous for trying to earn their fortune by just outright refusing to pay players out.
Plenty Jackpots was founded in 2008 and has been closed in the meantime, which means that they can’t attract players anymore and manage to con their way into their pockets. Also, the fact that the casino operated from Costa Rica is just further proof of their agenda and practices.
First Impression
The website could have done with a better design. Blocks of paragraphs dominated the site with the same classic ‘white letters on a black background’ wonder of ingenuity that is a go-to for anyone who doesn’t really give that much thought about it. I guess though, it is clear to read, so you can’t knock them for that.
However, the navigation of the website was not clear at all — there were only a handful of clickable options (just six of them in the main menu, to be exact) and you’d struggle to reach any page that is beyond those six ones. For example, you couldn’t have properly navigated to the terms and conditions section, nor could you have found any kind of information about their license, or, for example, what security technologies they used (if any).
Common sense would have had you think that if they used some top-of-the-shelf system of security or were licensed by a reputable governing body, they’d flaunt that information towards anyone who’d take a peek at their casino. Since that’s not the case and they clearly hid that information intentionally, that should have been the first warning something questionable was going on behind the scenes.
Furthermore, since they’ve closed up, all the links, such as ‘Instant Play’ or ‘Mobile Casino,’ now lead to a different website and our advice is to stay as far away from those websites as possible.
Games and Software
This online casino uses RealTime Gaming as their software provider. RTG is a company which gained their reputation predominantly by creating slot games that have a great design and impeccable gameplay. Coupled with accompanying sound effects, they really provide great user experience and smoothness for players to enjoy the playthrough.
Moreover, RTG offers their players the opportunity to download the casino client to their computer, and by doing so, they can access more games than usual. On the other hand, if you’re not willing to go down that road, you can still play a large number of their games on the website itself.
Many — most, even — RTG slot games offer progressive jackpots, which really takes the gaming experience up a notch, rather than the usual games with just base gameplay. The game designs feature a five-reel and three-reel game modes. Additionally, these slot games include even some of the players’ favorites, such as Aztec’s Treasure, Jackpot Pinatas, Achilles, etc.
Furthermore, you can play other types of online games. For instance, there are also video poker and table games on offer. The video poker section will greet you with a list of the most well-known titles like Deuces Wild, Jacks or Better, or Aces and Eights.
Added to that, you can consider table games to be the standout between everything else available. RTG can pride themselves on their selection of table games. Try to remember any game that you’ve played in a real or an online casino. Chances are, you’ll find that game listed here. What is more, RTG has really had a go at trying to make sure nobody misses out on that one table game they’re obsessed with. There are multiple variants of Blackjack, with some of them having an option for side bets. You will also find classic games like Baccarat, Roulette, and Craps.
And when it comes to creating an account and handling the money fluctuation (at least when it comes to your part of it), the casino accepts payments from Neteller and Click2Pay, as well as a MasterCard or a Visa credit card, which were available only for depositing. Furthermore, the casino offered Neteller and Click2Pay as withdrawal services as well. Finally, an express check was another possibility.
As I have mentioned earlier, Plenty Jackpots withholds any information regarding their license and other business policies, but we know that they fall under the jurisdiction of Costa Rica. In the years in which online casinos became a business with high exposure and presence, Costa Rica became a sort of a jurisdictional haven for casinos who chose to set up their operations to be on a more dubious side.
You see, their governing body isn’t really concerned with making sure online casinos are dealing with their customers in an honest and non-fraudulent way. Therefore, many of the blacklisted and rogue casinos base themselves over there in order to exploit this opportunity.
And as far as bonuses go, like many other rogue casinos, Plenty Jackpots offer some genuinely attractive offers for new players with a view to getting them to create an account. They offer a 400% first deposit bonus with no fee limitations, and there’s also a cashback option for your first deposit, in case it doesn’t bring you any winnings. Moreover, there are several casino bonuses for returning players (including codes for free spins and no deposit bonuses), but they change these on a monthly basis. So if you’re a player at Plenty Jackpots, you should keep an eye out for new promotions.
However, the wagering requirements on these bonuses are quite ridiculous, to be frank. For instance, the 400% first deposit bonus is followed up by a 120x bonus plus deposit wagering requirement. This lowers the probability of you actually benefiting from these offers to a minimum.
User Experience
If you search for this casino online, even before getting to the website itself, you’ll get swarmed by pages upon pages of complaints, mostly concerning the tardiness of payment, and more often than not, no payment at all.
Though the casino offers customer service, the feeling is that they are yet to be of any use to anyone. You can contact them via a phone number or an e-mail, but perhaps the most convenient solution is the live chat you can access on the website.
When confronted with complaints of payments being late, the customer support would just move you along in hopes of finishing the conversation with you as soon as possible. They would say to customers that they’ve just started the process of transferring the funds. What a coincidence! At other times, they wouldn’t even bother with coming up with something and would just straight up tell them that they weren’t going to get paid. Now, if you’re asking yourself how they are allowed to do that, maybe check out what it means to be based in Costa Rica once again.
Unfortunately, they still have a great number of unresolved complaints. And since they didn’t care about those while they were up and running, it’s illogical to expect any of those will get solved now that Plenty Jackpots is out of business. But thankfully, they’re not able to attract any more customers to expand their collection of unresolved issues.
Pros and Cons
The fact that they use RTG’s software makes Plenty Jackpots an undoubtedly enjoyable casino to play at. Additionally, they constantly update their bonus options, keeping the players interested to keep going, with new promotions being available monthly. They also have customer support set up, but it seems as if they’re there more for the show, rather than actually helping out their customers. However, perhaps the biggest positive to them now is that they are out of work.
On the other hand, the biggest issue and the main reason why this casino is blacklisted is their attitude towards players’ money. The fact is, they don’t have to answer to a strict governing body. This allows them to be irresponsible towards their customers and screw them out of their winnings. Something they don’t shy away from.
Our Verdict
The Plenty Jackpots Casino was everything you’d expect a rogue casino to be. Poorly licensed, not transparent about their business, with painfully unhelpful customer support. They offered attractively sounding bonuses, and they used to base their income on the hope that you, as a potential new customer, wouldn’t do research on them. Their gaming software was a standout positive, but even if you’re a huge fan of RTG’s games, there are plenty of other credible casinos with the same software, but the ones which wouldn’t have proven to be just a scam.
