12win considers itself a gaming operator rather than a casino. Not many information about it is available, other than their website, which is written in a very poor language, with a few short sentences provided for each section. Although it has a wide audience (or so it claims), it is on many lists of blacklisted casinos, including our own.
General Information
12win was founded in 1999 and has since been one of the top leading casino websites in Malaysia, which is very strange, considering many flaws we’ve encountered relating to it. Predatory terms and conditions, suspicious and insufficient information, as well as non-existent customer service, are just one of the many reasons why we recommend players to steer clear of it.
It is powered by Playtech, one of the biggest game providers on the market in the last few years, which developed a strong relationship with many praised casinos. Playtech offers a few hundred casino games including slot games, video poker, table games, and more.
12win states that it has an affiliate program with Lucky Jar, although the group does not have this casino listed on their website. Otherwise, Lucky Jar has an admirable reputation for having a very low threshold rate, no fees, and a wide range of payment options to choose from.
This casino claims it has a license provided by the Malta Gaming Authority, one of the best regulatory bodies in the area of online gambling. The MGA is highly respected on the casino market, and its license provides them to function around the entire world. However, most casinos with this license are from Europe.
So imagine our surprise, when we found out that 12win is actually on the MGA’s blacklist. It turns out, this casino is shamelessly displaying the MGA stamp on their website to intentionally mislead players into thinking they are trustworthy. When in fact, the MGA is strongly advising all of the users across the globe not to rely on this fake information. The official website of the Malta Gaming Authority contains a clear warning: “Any reference to the MGA and/or gaming licence/s said to be issued by the Maltese Authority, as stated on these domains is false and misleading.”
First Impression
The 12win website serves only one purpose — as a warning that you shouldn’t use automatic translation engines quite so literally. The website provides little to no information about the games they provide, wagering requirements, bonus terms, minimum and maximum deposit/withdrawal, nothing at all!
The design of the website is overdone, to say the least, with the basic Las Vegas-themed background, palm trees, and shining bright lights. There is a picture in the center of the website that looks like a template for your screensaver in 1998. It shows few gal pals having fun, drinking it up, and stacking their big piles of chips on the roulette table. They look like they are having a blast, and we assume it’s because they found a secret passage to the 12win’s policies since we certainly did not have that luck.
A big gold sign at the top right corner invites you to register; however, at your own risk, considering the casino’s reputation. The register button will pop up once again, right above those happy girls, just in case you happen to miss it the first time.
It seemed to work since we caved and clicked to register. The whole page asks you to enter just two pieces of information — your name and phone number.
Games and Software
12win provides a choice of games drawn from 5 other casinos — Lucky Palace, SCR888 (918Kiss Casino), Crown Casino, Joker Casino, and NewTown casino. These sites do not provide much information about themselves as well, so you can see it’s all pretty much the same crowd.
The promotions include a 6% off of your loss, which is not applied to the Joker Casino games. The due payment term is before next Wednesday, so maybe that can vaguely imply a payout speed?
The deposit bonus or any other casino bonus is not shown anywhere. For all your deposit and withdrawal needs, you have the option to send SMS to the admin, who will, we assume, provide you with the information that was supposed to be up on the website in the first place.
The software they use is from Playtech, which has shown many qualities regarding gaming options in the last few years. It offers over 600 games, such as slots, table games, scratch cards, live games, and more. They are designed for easy use on any mobile or desktop device and any operating system (Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS).
This software is particularly popular in Europe and Asia. It offers an instant play or download mode for all its gaming options. The feature that stands out the most with this software is high-quality graphics, which are displayed through 50 new games released every year.
Apart from Playtech, they also list other providers, such as Net Entertainment, Smart Live Casino, and Guts Casino.
User Experience
The thing that is especially strange about 12win is that they do not offer customer support in the usual sense. Instead, you can message or email the mysterious admin with your query. Many users find this to be very outdated and frustrating.
On the feedback page, you would expect to see, well, some feedback from the users, or general information about the weekly/daily accomplishments. Instead, the number of site visits is displayed. Is it for the day, or the year, or the entire existence of this disgraceful website, we will never know.
The website, however, assures the safety of all the users’ information (and money) with the latest versions of firewalls and encryption, though there aren’t any further details about it. All financial operations are carried out in MYR, the currency of Malaysia, via local or manual transfer. These vague terms are thrown together and scribbled in the very bottom of the page in tiny letters, which many users found predatory and misleading.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- high-quality software
Cons
- fake license claims
- terrible website
- modest choice of games.
Our Verdict
12win casino is a gem in the rogue online casinos’ world. It shows new levels of carelessness towards respecting the basic rules and regulations needed in online gambling or any business ethics whatsoever.
The responsible gambling section is missing from their webpage completely, which is not strange for rogue casinos since they obviously lack the basic knowledge about this area. The combination of the poor customer service options together with their fake license, a small range of games, and unclear terms and conditions makes 12win a prime example of a casino that should be avoided at all cost.
