Find out why Casino Vega was among the world’s worst casinos according to many players. It is now officially shut down after many years of scamming.
Rogue Casino Review: Casino Vega
Casino Vega was established in 1999, allegedly licensed under the Internet Gaming Commission. The licenses this casino previously had were those of Costa Rica and Curaçao. It was included and excluded from blacklisted casinos several times since 2007 before it was proclaimed rogue once again in December 2014 and finally shut down afterward.
The site’s main currency was USD, and deposits and withdrawals were done mostly with Neteller and InstaDebit. Withdrawal limit was $500 per week. No RTP information was provided on the site.
First Impression
Casino Vega’s website is not working anymore, however, we have found some screenshots of it. That’s how we know their site had a dark background with mostly green content and a simple logo. Since the site isn’t operational anymore, we made our first impression on the account of their troublesome history and a plethora of complaints they received from their users. All we have to say is that it’s impressive just how long this casino remained operational with so many serious issues it had.
Games and Software
The software company which provided this site with gaming software was Parlay. This is a not-so-famous but decent gaming company from Canada, present in the market since the late 1990s. Parlay puts an accent on bingo but lacks graphics quality and variety in other games.
However, Casino Vega used pirated Parlay software. Using pirated software is highly unethical because the game provider doesn’t get paid for their product. Additionally, it is also extremely risky for the players since pirated software’s RNG can be tampered with by the casino and the odds fixed in their favor. Therefore, there’s not much to hope for when playing with pirated software, except scam and unfair play.
User Experience
Supposedly, there was some kind of customer support available over the phone and e-mail, but according to user testimonies, it was unresponsive
Additionally, the only thing this casino offered to attract its unfortunate players was the non-sticky welcome bonus. The newcomers were awarded with 200% deposit bonus up to $1000 with a high wagering requirement of 40x bonus plus deposit on blackjack and 30x on other games. And in case they won anything, the players were officially allowed to cash out whichever amount they had remaining from the initial bonus.
Moreover, there were many more things that were wrong with this casino. First, there was the fake license. The site claimed that the IGC — the Internet Gaming Commission — provided the license, but it turned out that this kind of commission didn’t exist. IGC was actually Interactive Gaming Council, which was founded to monitor fair and responsible trade in the interactive gaming industry and is not authorized to hand out any gambling licenses.
To make things even worse, the Casino Vega was connected with the notorious BigTime Affiliates, which were accused of closing their casinos down and never paying their affiliates.
And in the end, they went around and wrote positive comments about themselves — since no one else would do it. Unless you really believe that some Mrs. Claus would write that Casino Vega customer support was highly attentive and their games were “best to be found.”
Terrible but Honest Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions weren’t even predatory — they were openly reckless. First of all, they didn’t even have a regular Terms and Conditions section. But in what they did publish, they wrote that they reserve the right to delete a player’s account “for any reason at their sole discretion.” By this, the management of Casino Vega meant barring the players who win too often. This is indeed legal, but Casino Vega had a tendency of forgetting that the casino was also legally obliged to pay any winnings to such a player before barring them.
In addition, Casino Vega must have had lots of fun when they invented the rules to bully their members. For example, they had a rule that withdrawals were possible only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. What is more, any winnings (not just those earned from a bonus) had a 15x wagering requirement. And just to add fuel to the fire, your account could have been blocked if you had more than $25 and didn’t deposit anything in a period of two weeks.
This was the so-called dormancy period, which other casinos have as well, but theirs lasts for at least three or more months. Closing a player’s account after 2 weeks of inactivity is predatory and outrageous. It is no wonder there are so many reported cases of bonus terms abuse and confiscation of winnings on the side of the casino. Or theft, to put it more plainly.
The Hots and Nots
Pros
- It doesn’t work anymore
Cons
- Payments delayed or refused
- Predatory terms and conditions
- Pirated software
- Bogus license
Our Verdict
Thankfully, it is not possible to play at Casino Vega anymore. After more than a decade of stealing from their customers, they are now finally shut down. There is not a single good thing to say about this casino since they have committed each of the most severe delicts an online casino could make: stealing from players and software piracy. Hopefully, this casino will stay closed for good. But just in case it ever emerges again under the same or a different name, we advise you to stay away from it at all costs.
