Mighty Slots: A Mighty Mess of Non-Payment Issues
One of the worst feelings in gambling has to be winning a huge hand and not being able to claim your winnings. Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of online casinos known to outright refuse payouts. One such was Mighty Slots, which held the Costa Rica Online Gambling License.
General Information
In the world of online gambling, the name Mighty Slots has become synonymous with non-payment. If you’ve had the misfortune of playing at this online casino, there’s a high chance you’ve never received your winnings.
Luckily, we don’t have to fear any further incidents involving this casino. It had officially been shut down last year. Arguably the only good decision from the Mighty Slots’ management…
Mighty Slots was operated by the Curgam Group from Costa Rica, infamous for refusing to pay out player winnings. As is the case with all casinos from the Curgam Group, Mighty Slots was blacklisted by the vast majority of the online gambling community for not paying out.
There are heaps of player complaints all over the web, all pointing towards the same conclusion: Mighty Slots did everything in their power to delay (infinitely) or blatantly refuse to cash out legitimate winnings.
The word spread fast online, and players quickly caught wind of what was really happening at Mighty Slots. Unsurprisingly, their playerbase promptly diminished. This is most likely the reason why they decided to shut down in the first place. Hopefully, their exit from the industry is permanent.
On top of not paying their players, they further aggravated the problem by persistently spamming everyone’s e-mail addresses. If you’ve registered an account on their site, you were getting hundreds of spammy e-mails every month. There were no two ways about it.
Although unethical in and of itself, it becomes even worse when, instead of a response to your complaint, you received the same e-mail that you’ve gotten countless times before. All of these e-mails were shoving their affiliate program down people’s throats. There were only a handful of variants, but the spam was endless. We can’t imagine how anyone in their right might would have thought this strategy would bear any fruit.
The players eventually got fed up with Mighty Slots’ nonsense and migrated to more credible operators. This inevitably led to the downfall of this immoral, unethical pest that plagued the online gambling world.
First Impression
Even though Mighty Slots no longer exists (thank God), we’ve dug up a few screenshots to get an idea of what it used to be. And boy, o boy, it was something alright…
If someone sent us the link for Mighty Slots 5–10 years ago without knowing what it was, we would’ve closed the entire browser lightning-fast. The reason is simple: huge flashy buttons, the in-your-face “download free” banners, and insane sums featured on the homepage.
If you’ve ever seen the “you’re the millionth visitor” types of viruses, you know exactly what we’re talking about — poor design and wild claims that sound too good to be true. And in Mighty Slots’ case, they indeed were.
We’re referring to their deposit bonus offers. At one time, they offered a ridiculously high bonus of 4900%, up to $1,000. The catch, of course, was that you could never withdraw this. The bonus would automatically be removed from your account with the first withdrawal request.
Additionally, you could only play Slots with the sign-up bonus and withdraw the maximum of $200. In other words, regardless of how “generous” Mighty Slots might have seen, you couldn’t win a dime over $200.
Today, with the bar raised much higher and dozens of premium-quality online casinos at our disposal, we doubt we would ever give Mighty Slots a second thought.
Games and Software
If you passed the first hurdle and actually decided to try out a few games back when Might Slots was still online, you would have been pleasantly surprised. The main reason for that is that Mighty Slots utilized RealTime Gaming software.
A wide array of top-quality, visually appealing, and thrilling games was their way to pull the players in. As one of the most popular software providers in the world, RTG was an obvious choice for the Curgam Group.
RTG-powered casinos are renowned for their extensive libraries of unique slot games. However, Mighty Slot disappoints regarding the variety, with only 45 different slot offered, 24 video poker variants and 16 table games.
Although selecting RTG as their software provider is commendable, we have to look at the big picture. The self-imposed question is: Is there really a point playing the best & the most exciting games while knowing you’ll never be able to claim your winnings?
User Experience
It’s safe to say that, even if there’s a 1 in a million chance a positive comment about Mighty Slots Casino exists — it has probably been fabricated by the casino itself.
Everyone who has ever played at this casino was completely outraged with their policies, and understandably so. It would appear that Mighty Slots’ customer service existed for the sole purpose of spouting nonsense and telling fairy tales to players.
The goal was to take their minds off the fact that they were several months late with their payments. In some extreme instances, players had to wait a full year before claiming their winnings. And of course, plenty of people never got a single penny.
But the stalling tactics could only have worked for so long. Mighty Slots eventually succumbed to the pressure and revealed their inability to resolve the ever-increasing number of player issues. At one point, they just stopped responding. Even after players tried involving third parties from reputable online gambling communities, Mighty Slots remained silent.
And since non-payment is one of the cardinal sins in online gambling, Mighty Slots’ reputation was in the gutter. We guess they had to learn the meaning of the proverb “you reap what you sow” the hard way.
Pros and Cons
PROS Accepted players from the United StatesWas optimized for mobile Is dead | CONS Non-payment Withdrawal stalling; insanely long and drawn-out withdrawal processPitiful customer serviceAlthough powered by RTG, the casino’s game library was quite limitedRestrictions during the sign-up bonus play |
Our Verdict
You might’ve noticed the subtle tone of disgust in this review. We apologize, but we can’t help it when we’re talking about immoral bastards whose only concern is lining their pockets with other people’s money. Money that their players legitimately won and is rightfully theirs…
Thankfully, the casino shut down last year, and we don’t need to warn you not to give money to these scammers. Just keep in mind that, when the number of user complaints regarding a specific casino is rather high, it suggests something is seriously wrong.
We hope this will help you make the right choice in the future so you don’t find yourself in a situation similar to the majority of the Mighty Slots’ players.
All things considered, we sleep better knowing that Mighty Slots Casino no longer exists.
