BurnBet Review: Stay Away from This Rogue Casino or You’ll Get Seriously Burned
In a world where hundreds of online casinos are attempting to exploit the lack of regulation and anonymity of the internet to line their pockets with other people’s money, BurnBet is the worst of them all.
From relying on dodgy terms to void winnings and infinitely delaying the withdrawal processes to outright refusing to pay the players and using pirated software to skew the odds in their favor, BurnBet has done it all.
Depositing at this joke of a casino is equivalent to throwing your money down the drain. So stay as far away from this rogue pit as possible.
General Information
BurnBet Casino is a brand, allegedly licensed by the Government of Curaçao Commission. The casino does feature a license number on their official website, but they fail to provide the official Curaçao-egaming license shield. The casino is also accepting players from the United Kingdom, even though they do not have the UKGC license. Both of these facts will be reflected in the lower jurisdiction rating at the end of the article.
However, this isn’t the sole reason why gamblers question the validity of this online casino. The major concerns first came from the fact that the company hosts pirated video slot software. From the myriad of games the brand provides, those by Novomatic, Playtech, and Sheriff Gaming have been confirmed to be fake.
As if that wasn’t reason enough to become blacklisted, BurnBet escalated things further by failing to provide any sort of explanation and outright refusing to pull the games in question. They appear to be still offering pirated casino games to this date.
Furthermore, after the LCB team published an article warning players about BurnBet’s pirated software, they have received a series of offensive messages from a person claiming to be the CEO of the brand. These went as far as personal death threats on multiple accounts.
BurnBet has shown their unprofessionalism on countless occasions in the past, as well as the unwillingness to address players’ complaints.
First Impression
BurnBet’s official website is still up and running. At first glance, it looks fairly generic, with little effort put into the design.
From the homepage, you can navigate the website by choosing between 4 big categories BurnBet offers: Sports betting, Live betting, Casino, and Live casino. From the looks of it, BurnBet appears to be offering their users quite a few games to bet on. But actually placing the bets might prove somewhat troublesome.
The problem is that their website seems to be experiencing quite a few technical difficulties. At the time of this review, the Sports betting portion wasn’t accessible, while the Live betting section took forever to load. This is certainly something to take into consideration, as it can be a big inconvenience for anyone trying to play at this casino.
Furthermore, the casino side of BurnBet, although decently organized and fairly responsive, automatically plays a sound mimicking a slot machine, which gets rather annoying after a while.
Overall, the first impression of BurnBet is honestly horrible. If our intention was to gamble at this website, we would most likely change our minds in a matter of seconds.
Bonuses and Withdrawal Terms
On the casino’s homepage, you’re also met with a banner featuring a rather generous offer — a 100% matching bonus on your first betting deposit. Although seemingly a great welcoming gift, there’s no information regarding bonus play.
BurnBet only briefly mentions the rollover requirements in their terms, related to odds of specific bets. Namely, any bets containing odds lower than 1.95 do not count towards the rollover requirements. What those requirements are remains unspecified.
Still, what we can conclude from this is that the welcome bonus BurnBet offers isn’t sticky. It can indeed be withdrawn, but only after you’ve met the “mysterious” rollover requirements.
However, that’s not the only issue with BurnBet’s Terms and Conditions. Their withdrawal terms are arguably even more questionable. In fact, they are enforcing an unreasonable limitation on withdrawals, with the maximum amount you can cashout being only €1,000 each month. Winning a sizeable bet in their sportsbook or a jackpot on any of the slots would automatically mean you’d realistically have to wait for over a year, if not more, to receive your winnings.
Furthermore, as one of their withdrawal rules, you also have to wager your deposit in full before requesting a payout. If not, the casino reserves the right to make changes to your account to “cover all reasonable costs.” In other words, they can deduct as much money from your account as they see fit if you fail to meet this requirement.
Keep in mind that this is a single sentence in their terms, buried in between several pages worth of text, so it’s really easy to miss. However, by playing at the casino, you’re agreeing to their terms, effectively giving them your blessings to remove money from your account.
Games and Software
As mentioned, BurnBet offers a wide range of games across four different categories:
Sports Betting — If you’re hoping to find anything other than soccer here, you’re out of luck. According to BurnBet, that’s the only sport you can bet on in the “sports betting” section. To make matters even worse, they currently only feature the 5 major leagues — England, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France. Funny enough, the U.S. presidential elections fall under the definition of “sports” in BurnBet’s dictionary. So if you are so inclined, you can bet on who the next U.S. president will be.
Live Betting — Live betting, thankfully, provides a bit more variety regarding what you can bet on. It includes Cricket, Football (soccer), Tennis, and Basketball. As far as individual games are concerned, there are quite a few options to hedge your bets on. That said, BurnBet doesn’t bring anything new and refreshing to the table when it comes to live betting.
Casino — They offer games from a dozen different developers, although we highly doubt any of them are genuine. However, to play any of these fake games, even for entertainment purposes only, you’ll first have to register and create your BurnBet account.
Live Casino — Although accessible from the home screen, this feature is strangely absent from the rest of the website. And probably for a good reason. While the sidebar on the website suggests you can play roulette, blackjack, poker, and other games live — the site itself is completely unresponsive. Absolutely nothing happens when you choose a game. It’s quite possible BurnBet has given up on this idea but have failed (or didn’t care to) update the web page.
User Experiences
The entire fiasco, which culminated in death threats, arose from unanswered user complaints. And we’re not talking about complaints regarding the software, games not loading, or anything of the sort…
The vast majority of the issues were regarding the payouts. More specifically, BurnBet made it quite difficult for players to withdraw money from their accounts. Apart from the standard – requesting a government-issued I.D. – BurnBet has been known to ask players to provide selfies, bank statements, address verifications, and other information.
It would appear that most of these requests for “necessary” information were little more than a delay strategy, as multiple users had their accounts blocked, without ever receiving their money.
Trying to contact BurnBet’s customer support typically doesn’t bear any fruit. There is no toll-free number you can call or Live Chat so you can voice your complaints on the spot. They do supposedly provide Skype support, but you’ll experience the same insanely long delay before receiving an answer.
It’s funny how they advertise that their customer service is available 24/7 and will get back to you in 24 hours. In reality, it’s closer to 24 days. Even then, they aren’t likely to provide any information that might be useful in helping you resolve your issue. More often than not, you’ll simply receive a generic, rehearsed response that serves no other purpose but to buy more time for the casino to keep perpetuating their scam.
All things considered, it comes as no surprise that BurnBet is blacklisted by nearly all reputable online gambling communities. Therefore, we strongly advise you to avoid this casino at all cost.
Pros and Cons
From the unresponsive website design and ridiculous stock photos featured on it to blatantly refusing customers’ withdrawal requests, everything about BurnBet screams SCAM.
Even if you were to look through a magnifying glass, it would be next to impossible to find anything remotely good about this rogue casino.
The only “positive” we can think of is the comedic value of the name itself, as you’re more than likely to get burned by this rogue casino.
As for the cons, there are plenty of reasons to stay as far away from this casino as possible:
- Accepting players from the UK without the UKGC license
- Stolen Games | Pirated Games
- Unprofessional and unethical business behavior
- Deliberately delaying the withdrawal process; ridiculous verification process
- Horrible, unresponsive customer support that perpetuates the scam
- Relying on dodgy Terms and Conditions to void players’ winnings
Our Verdict
It’s virtually impossible to stay unbiased in our verdict and overlook the fact that BurnBet has been dubbed the worst casino of 2017 by several other watchdog portals. And rightfully so.
They have committed every cardinal sin in the online gambling world, from hosting pirated games and accepting illegal bets to wiping players’ account balances and outright refusing withdrawal requests.
Playing on BurnBet adds a whole new meaning to the word risk-taking. You’re not only gambling your money on games but also on whether or not you’ll ever actually receive your winnings.
To sum it up, this casino is utter garbage, and you’ll do well to avoid it at all cost. Casinos like these are the main reason why some gamblers won’t ever consider playing online.
